Abbracci di Mulino Bianco — the "hugs" biscuit that earns its name from the two-tone ring shape: a light vanilla biscuit and a dark cocoa biscuit intertwined in a single piece, representing one of Mulino Bianco's most enduring and visually distinctive products.
The Biscuit
- Dual Dough Construction — Each Abbraccio is made from two separate doughs — a vanilla-flavoured light dough and a cocoa-flavoured dark dough — pressed together in a ring shape. The two doughs have slightly different textures: the vanilla side is more crumbly and buttery, the cocoa side is slightly firmer and crisper.
- Butter-Based Recipe — Mulino Bianco uses real butter in the Abbracci recipe, contributing a richness and snap that shortbread-style biscuits have and many vegetable-oil-based biscuits lack.
- Vanilla and Cocoa Balance — Neither flavour dominates; each bite delivers both simultaneously — the appeal of the biscuit is the contrast and complementarity of the two flavours in a single piece.
- Mulino Bianco Quality — Same natural ingredient commitment as the broader range; free from artificial colours in the product itself.
Ingredients
Wheat flour, butter (17%), sugar, cocoa powder, eggs, skim milk powder, vanilla extract, salt, raising agents (E500ii, E503ii), soya lecithin. Contains: gluten, milk, eggs, soya. May contain traces of tree nuts.
Serving
The ring shape makes Abbracci naturally suited for dipping — dip the entire biscuit in espresso or cappuccino for a 5-second "affogato" biscuit experience. Crumble as a base layer for tiramisù in place of savoiardi for a different textural result.
