What is Nougat Cream?

In Dutch patisserie, nougat cream (nougatcrème) refers to a confectionery cream made with whipped egg whites, sugar, and chopped roasted nuts (typically almonds and hazelnuts) — lighter and more aerated than a standard buttercream, with a chewy, candy-like sweetness. Not the same as the dense Italian torrone nougat.

Ingredients

Wheat flour, sugar, eggs, butter, whole milk, whipped cream, nougat filling (egg whites, sugar, glucose syrup, almonds, hazelnuts, vanilla), icing sugar. Contains gluten, milk, eggs, almonds, hazelnuts. May contain traces of other tree nuts.

Serving

Serve at room temperature. The nougat cream filling softens at room temperature for maximum flavour expression. Ideal for birthdays and celebrations.
