Strawberry Quark Pastry Points

Kwarkpunten — individual triangular pastries filled with fresh quark (Dutch fresh cheese) and strawberry, a lighter alternative to cream-filled pastries that uses the natural tanginess of quark to balance the sweetness of the strawberry topping.

What is Kwark?

Kwark (quark) is a German-Dutch fresh dairy product similar to a thick fromage blanc or a drained yogurt; smooth, tangy, and protein-rich. It has approximately 10% of the fat content of double cream while providing a similar fresh, dairy flavour that carries fruit well.

Ingredients

Puff pastry or shortcrust base (wheat flour, butter, sugar), quark filling (whole milk quark, sugar, vanilla, gelatine), fresh strawberry topping, strawberry glaze (strawberry juice, pectin, sugar). Contains gluten, milk, eggs.

Serving

Serve chilled or at room temperature. Best within 24 hours of purchase — the glaze and fresh fruit lose appeal after 24 hours refrigeration. A lighter choice when fresh cream is too rich.
