Spar Krentenbrood — a classic Dutch currant bread, a sweet enriched yeast loaf with a high concentration of krenten (dried Black Corinth currants) distributed through a lightly spiced dough.
About Krentenbrood
Krentenbrood is the currant-only version of the Dutch sweet fruit bread; where rozijnenbrood (raisin bread) uses the larger, plumper Muscat grape currant, krentenbrood uses the small, intensely flavoured Black Corinth grape (known in the Netherlands as krenten). The smaller size means more individual pieces per slice and a more even fruit distribution throughout the crumb.
Ingredients
Wheat flour, currants (krenten, 18%), water, butter, eggs, sugar, yeast, cinnamon, cardamom, salt. Contains gluten, milk, eggs, sulphites.
